Lifestyle Medicine: Getting Started
“You never change things by fighting the existing reality. To change something, build a new model that makes the existing model obsolete.”
Richard Buckminster Fuller
The health and wellness coaching process is a scientific one, rooted in numerous behavioral theories. The coaching relationship is a collaborative, nonjudgmental and supportive forum designed to build confidence and motivation, the most crucial ingredients for change.
Typically, we’ll meet weekly for 30-45 minute sessions, either on the phone or in my office. If, after the first session the process feels right to you, we will make an initial three month commitment to your journey. The reason? Research tells us that it takes about that long to break or create habits.
While this is all about change, I actually assume many things are working well for you, but that you would like your life to be even better. We’ll use what’s right as our springboard; doing so is enlivening, reminds you of what you’re capable of and enables tackling the challenges of change.
